Every Wednesday at second break, students meet together in a small classroom to pray, worship and learn more about Jesus. What is truly encouraging is to see the seniors take the lead and share their faith with their peers; there is little that is more uplifting than seeing peers minister to peers. The group is an expression of the many student-led cell groups that are run throughout the school each week which make an unquantifiable impact in the lives of the young people at the school.
In Hebrews 10:25, the writer implores Christians with the following: “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.”
As Christians at Southdowns College, our hope is that we would continue to meet together and in doing so shine Christ’s light of love to the school and beyond.
Psalm 9:6-7
“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
