Mothers in Touch

Mothers in Touch

How can a mother make the greatest impact on the lives of her children? We believe she can do this by praying earnestly, regularly and passionately for them. Through intercession mothers (and fathers) can have a real and lasting influence in the lives of their children. Concerned about the pressures being faced in our school environment, several Southdowns College mothers joined together in 2007 to pray for the situation. That is how Mothers-in-Touch was born. We operate under the umbrella of a world-wide group of mothers who are willing to “stand in the gap” before God for their children and the schools they attend.

We, as mothers believe in God’s ability and willingness to help and to bless. We are a Christian ministry dedicated to prayer for our children, our teachers our school and all its aspects and for each other. MIT is non-denominational and has no formal membership. Our sole aim is to motivate mothers to pray.

The mothers meet for 30-45 min each week to pray for our school and all its aspects. In addition to intercessory prayer, we also reach out to the school as a loving support group for teachers and administrators. Mothers-in-Touch also strive to actively demonstrate God’s love and grow closer to school staff and parents by acts of kindness.

Today, thousands of mothers across South Africa and around the world participate in the Mothers-in-Touch prayer strategy, praying for thousands of schools.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me.”
